The Prospect for Russia’s Jews

Outwardly secure and flourishing, the community is a fraction of its former size and dwindling. What troubles the minds of those who stay?

“Why do you stay here?”

“I have a son here,” he replied. And then he added: “God gave me as a Jew such a place in life—to live in Russia.”

“What about the other Jews, why do they stay here?”
