The Houthis Are Taking Over Syria’s Drug Empire

Captagon finds a new capital.

Early yesterday morning, the IDF intercepted the 68th ballistic missile launched at Israel by Yemen’s Houthi rebels since March. The Houthis, despite being pummeled by both the U.S. and Israel, and ruling over an impoverished and war-torn country, are able to keep their arsenals full thanks to Iranian support, oil sales, monopolizing international aid, and—it turns out—selling a drug called Captagon.
