A rare document from the First Temple era.
While archaeologists have discovered numerous written texts from the Second Temple period—most famously those found at the Qumran caves near the Dead Sea—it is much rarer to find texts from the time of the First Temple. Most of the latter are engravings rather that documents written on papyrus or parchment. In the video below, experts from the Israel Antiquities Authority share a recently located fragment of a papyrus letter from the 6th or 7th century BCE, near the end of the First Temple era.
