A Bible-Era Egyptian Fortress Discovered in the Sinai

Guarding the Canaanite frontier.

Earlier this month, archaeologists in the Sinai announced the discovery of a massive ancient Egyptian fortress dating to the early 15th century BCE at the site known as Tell el-Kharouba. (Following the chronology of the Bible, this would be around the beginning of the Israelites’ enslavement.) Nathan Steinmeyer writes:
