A Long-Term Strategy for Iran

First, no deals.

The recent U.S. strikes on Iran will, at best, leave its rulers convinced that Washington hasn’t lost its will to use force. Especially if they are followed by further American escalation, they might even convince Tehran to back down over the Strait of Hormuz. It is unlikely, however, that the events of the next few days will precipitate regime change in the immediate future.
