A Rare Glimpse at a 14th-Century Hebrew Illustrated Bible

The Shem Tov Bible.

Last week, the Sotheby’s auction house sold an illuminated manuscript of the Hebrew Bible, and is briefly putting it on display to the public. The work was compiled in Soria, Spain by Rabbi Shem Tov Ibn Gaon in the early 14th century. Herewith, a video that shows this rare book, accompanied by descriptions from experts. (Four minutes.
