Brad Lander, the Jewish former New York City comptroller who won a Democratic nomination for Congress, recently had the opportunity to learn a similar lesson to that learned by Jewish attendees at the 2001 Durban Conference. Once a member of the Democratic Socialists of America who described himself as a “liberal Zionist,” Lander edged out the more moderate Dan Goldman in the primary with promises of greater hostility toward Israel.
