Hebraic Christianity, the Jews, and the Future of America

A Protestant’s intra-Christian polemic.

In a remarkable essay, the political theorist Joshua Mitchell examines the major rifts that have divided Christianity over the years and the particular relationship of American Christianity to the American political future. I should note that this is a work of intra-Christian polemic, and that Mosaic neither rejects nor endorses its position on the theopolitical issues at stake. Indeed, a reader not especially knowledgeable about church doctrine and history might find some of it obscure—but it is very much worth reading.
