On Monday, President Trump announced plans to “take out Pickaxe Mountain,” adding that the U.S. is closely monitoring it. The mountain in question is located just south of the Natanz nuclear facility, which is a key part of the Islamic Republic’s uranium-enrichment program. The Natanz facility was struck by the U.S., and perhaps by Israel as well, during both the 2025 and 2026 wars. By moving its nuclear work deep inside the mountain, Iran hopes to protect it from even America’s most powerful ordinance.
