Following the announcement of the agreement with Israel, the Lebanese government took down billboards that said, “Thank you, Iran” and replaced them with the slogan “Lebanon first.” The latter implicitly rebukes Hizballah—which for decades has exerted control over Lebanese politics—for the putting the interests of its masters in Tehran over those of the Lebanese. Hizballah responded by setting the new billboards aflame. Yitzhak Gershon comments on the situation:
