Francis Salvador: Sephardi Englishman, colonial legislator, and Revolutionary war hero.

Descended from a wealthy and prominent clan of English Jews, whose forbears had fled Spain in the 15th century, Francis Salvador came to America in 1773 after his family lost much of its fortune.
