The Case of the Home Minyan Goes to the Supreme Court

Religious freedom vs. the legal-bureaucratic runaround.

Last month, the Supreme Court announced that it will hear the case of Daniel Grand, an Orthodox Jew who in January 2021 decided to start holding prayer services in his home in a Cleveland suburb. He then received a phone call from the mayor, who informed him that he would have to get a special permit in accordance with zoning laws.
