Will Ankara continue its support for Hamas?
Yesterday the Israeli government announced the appointment of a new ambassador to Turkey, one of the final steps in implementing the reconciliation agreement the two countries reached in June. Yet whether Jerusalem and Ankara will be able to maintain their resurrected alliance depends on the latter’s involvement in the intricacies of internal Palestinian politics, which are themselves connected to the equally intricate web of Middle Eastern rivalries.
