The Organization That Saves Israeli Babies

In America, a charity like Efrat—which helps expectant mothers considering abortion find alternatives—would be a controversial pro-life institution. But, as Efrat’s executive director Nir Salomon explains in this engaging and moving conversation with Kathryn Jean Lopez, his organization’s goal is not to prohibit anyone from terminating a pregnancy. Instead, Efrat provides the things mothers- (and fathers)-to-be need so that raising a child becomes possible: emotional support, cribs, baby formula, clothes, and even assistance in obtaining and paying for childcare.
