The Publishing Industry Turns against the Jews

Jews facing the Holocaust are acceptable subject matter; those visiting Israel aren’t.

This fall, the acclaimed Irish novelist Sally Rooney declined to have her most recent book published in Hebrew, citing her principled unwillingness to have any business dealings with Israel. (The book has already appeared in Chinese, courtesy of a press with close links to the ruling party.) The incident is but one instance of an industry increasingly in thrall to left-wing fads, including those that wish to anathematize the Jewish state.
