The Return of the B’nei Menashe Is a Testament to Jewish Endurance

A possible lost tribe from northeast India will soon complete its aliyah.

Last month, Jerusalem approved a plan to bring 5,800 members of the B’nei Menashe Jewish community of northeast India to Israel. Although the B’nei Menashe have been making aliyah for decades, this current proposal would facilitate the immigration of most of those who remain in the diaspora. Jacob Howland considers the fact that these people, who claim descent form one of the lost tribes of Israel, have thrown in their lot with their long-lost Jewish brethren:
