The U.S. Attack on Iran Made the Whole World Safer

Taking nonproliferation seriously.

It’s evident that, in the short term, Israel benefitted from the American decision to destroy Iran’s hardest-to-get-at nuclear sites. After all, Israel has the most to lose from a nuclear-armed Iran. But it’s also possible that, in the grand scheme of things, U.S. participation in the campaign was good for America, but less good for Israel. I hope this selection and the one that follows might, taken together, explain why.
