Uncovering the Jewish Ludwig Wittgenstein

The philosopher lied about his origins, but never escaped them.

Ludwig Wittgenstein is widely considered one of the great philosophers of the 20th century, and one of the founders—despite his Central European origins—of the analytical school that still dominates academic departments in the English-speaking world.
