Why Liberal Judaism Has Failed in Israel

It offers answers to Diaspora questions, not Israeli ones.

Despite repeated efforts, Reform and Conservative Judaism, which play such a prominent role in Jewish life in America and elsewhere in the Diaspora, have made few inroads in Israel. Leaders of these denominations have placed the blame for this on the official status accorded Orthodoxy in Israeli law and government funding of Orthodox institutions.
