Why One Israeli Quit the Anti-Government Protests

The veteran Israeli-American journalist Elliot Jager is, to put it mildly, no great admirer of the current prime minister or his coalition partners. Indeed, Jager was a regular at protests last year against what he hyperbolically refers to as Benjamin Netanyahu’s “judicial putsch.” Yet, although his attitude has not changed, he has stayed away from anti-government demonstrations since the war began. He explains why he disagrees with those in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv holding signs that say, “Bring them home now.”
