Why the Palestinian Authority Can’t Be Entrusted with Gaza

Pay-for-slay and phase two of the cease-fire.

Throughout the war with Hamas, Prime Minister Netanyahu has insisted that the Palestinian Authority (PA) play no role in postwar Gaza. His stance met with skepticism and outright criticism from many of Israel’s friends, and even from a considerable number of Israelis, who have argued that the PA is the only entity capable of governing the Strip. In practice, the new administration is formally separate from the PA, but seems to be closely connected.
