After some of the better-publicized anti-Semitic incidents that have taken place in New York City since his election, Mayor Zohran Mamdani made the appropriate noises of condemnation. But that hardly means he can be trusted to make New York’s Jew’s safer. Case in point: his decision to fire the executive director of the Office to Combat Anti-Semitism, a self-described “proud Zionist” named Moshe Davis. Replacing him is the progressive activist Phylissa Wisdom, who has some history of anti-Israel activism.
