How Israel Can Deal with Hizballah without Another Lebanon War

A new security zone must be part of an offensive strategy.

Yesterday, Hizballah fired rockets, mortars, and drones at Israeli troops in southern Lebanon, injuring four—one seriously. IDF airstrikes meanwhile targeted Hizballah operatives, weapons factories, depots, and launch sites. In the past few days, the IDF has also eliminated a few senior Hizballah members, including the head of the Radwan force—the group’s elite offensive unit. Next week, the U.S. will again mediate direct talks between Israeli and Lebanese diplomats.
