Israel Can’t Afford to Take Hamas’s Kites Lightly

They’re not so different from fiber-optic drones.

Yesterday, the usual suspects expressed outrage over Israel’s warning to Gazans that it will respond forcefully to the flying of kites into Israeli territory. During the spring and summer of 2018, as part of a major effort to probe and study Israeli border defenses, terrorist groups flew kites and balloons carrying incendiary devices over the border fence, igniting 678 fires and burning over 2,500 acres of forests and farmland. These airborne arson attacks continued during the next three years.
