Targeted Killings Won’t Defeat Hamas on Their Own

But still have strategic significance.

On Monday, the IDF killed two low-level Hamas commanders in separate strikes in Gaza. On May 26, the IDF got a much bigger fish: Mohammad Odeh, who was commander of the terrorist group’s military. Odeh had previously served as intelligence chief, in which capacity he had helped plan and organize the October 7 attacks.
