It won’t make the northern border safe.
Israel followed up its technological impressive attack on the pagers Hizballah operatives use to communicate by launching a similar attack on walkie-talkies and other electronic devices. Reportedly, dozens have been killed and thousands injured by the exploding hardware. Israel also seems to be following up with extensive conventional airstrikes. Moreover, thousands of IDF troops are being shifted from Gaza to the northern border, while statements by senior military and political figures suggest some sort of escalation is coming. But it’s too soon to tell what exactly they have in mind, or if this is the beginning of the long-awaited Third Lebanon War. While the terrorist group is no doubt in disarray at the moment, it has still managed to continue drone and rocket attacks, which killed two soldiers yesterday.
