The Death of Christian Zionism Is Greatly Exaggerated

For the movement to endure, it must adjust to new theological trends.

Among younger evangelical Christians, support for Israel has recently declined, and there has been a disturbing emergence of anti-Semitic opponents of Christian Zionists—many of whom have gotten outsized publicity thanks to social media and Tucker Carlson. Dale Coulter argues that, while the decline is real, American evangelicals remain overwhelmingly supportive of the Jewish state. What has happened, however, is the fading in popularity of a particular doctrine about history and salvation known as dispensationalism, which has often gone hand-in-hand with the embrace of Zionism:
