Vicious and vapid stereotypes, and something else.
This past year has seen two Netflix series with expressly Jewish themes. To John Podhoretz, both make for good television, but couldn’t be more different in the way they address what it means to be an American Jew. Erin Foster’s Nobody Wants This makes no effort at anything like accuracy, but makes sure to show the Jewish parents of the main male character, Noah, in the worst possible light:
