Since it came under attack on Saturday, Iran has launched hundreds of missiles and drones at targets as far aways as Cyprus, striking at as many as ten countries. Fatima Abo Alasrar explains that this response suggests commanders are acting on predetermined contingency plans, which is “not the same as a system that knows what comes next.” With the supreme leader’s successor already having been killed, there is no doubt some confusion at the top.
