While the debate over Syria has barely echoed beyond Israel’s borders, another issue has received ample attention in the Western media: the gang of Jewish extremists who surround two Palestinian homes in the West Bank village of Qusra, preventing the families that live there from leaving. The homes are located in Area B, which is governed jointly by the IDF and the Palestinian Authority (PA). Following the intervention of the U.S. ambassador Mike Huckabee, the IDF sent a detachment to remove the perpetrators, which failed to do so. The next attempt was successful, although the situation remains unresolved. Amit Segal explains what went wrong:
