The campaign to demonize Israel has been aided for decades by a host of supposed philanthropies—some specifically dedicated to Palestinians, some international, most based in the West—that present themselves as independent observers of the situation in Gaza. But like totalitarian regimes everywhere, Hamas does not allow such groups to operate freely in its territory. Thus they never report on Hamas’s executions or imprisonment of its critics, its rocket launchers, or its use of hospitals as military facilities.
