On Friday, Jerusalem and Beirut signed an agreement, with U.S. support, in which they “declare their intent to conclusively end the conflict, address its underlying causes, and to therewith formally conclude any state of war between them.” It also outlines steps for the Lebanese military to dismantle Hizballah, a group the agreement—unlike so many others—mentions by name, and does not demand an immediate withdrawal by the IDF.
