More Than 80 Years Later, Roddie Edmonds Gets His Due for Saving His Jewish Comrades in Arms

“We are all Jews.”

In January 1945, Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds of the U.S. Sixth Armored Division found himself in a German POW camp in command of some 1,200 fellow soldiers who had been captured during the Battle of the Bulge. He is now slated to receive a posthumous Medal of Honor for his actions there, which saved the lives of some 200 of his fellow soldiers. Matt White and Jeff Schogol write:
