While the war in Iran continues in fits and starts, and the IDF continues to fight in Lebanon, Hamas still maintains control of about 40 percent of the West Bank, where it is busy smuggling in weapons, taxing an impoverished populace, and torturing and executing dissidents. So far, neither the U.S.-led Board of Peace nor the Israeli government have a credible plan to dislodge the terrorist group. Efraim Inbar reckons with some harsh truths about the situation:
