The Yellow Line and the Future of Gaza

While the political process drags, Israel is keeping Hamas from rebuilding.

On Tuesday, representatives of some 45 nations, from Canada to Indonesia, gathered in Qatar, at the behest of U.S. Central Command, to discuss the fate of Gaza. Six countries reportedly have agreed to participate in the Board of Peace that is supposed to govern Gaza and several more to contribute troops to the international stabilization force that is supposed to maintain order there. It remains unclear, however, if any will be willing to deploy their personnel west of the yellow line, which divides the part of the Strip held by the IDF from that held by Hamas. Yet that is what it will take to disarm the terrorist group and create something like a lasting peace.
